So, A sunny day welcomed 26 members to The Victory at Staplefield for coffee. A new venue for us for this particular walk, which was last done in November 2018.

The group split into three, as two short walkers opted for a trip to Nymans (where they allegedly walked 2.6miles), whilst five headed off on the local short walk, and the remainder of us then headed towards Slaugham village.

A relatively gentle walk along the road before diverting up thru' the woods to the church yard, and crossing onto the rising track through the private Slaugham estate. Emerging at the top of the A23 slip road, it was just a short stretch before entering onto the Nymans Countryside walk track.

A downhill stretch took us along the deserted valley track alongside the ponds, stopping at a suitable dappled sunny spot for James to take the group photo.

Finally crossing the bridge over the stream we were faced with a steep staircase before emerging into bright sunlight by an adjacent newly cut green pasture along the ridge. A final stretch took us uphill - they were warned(!) - before descending to the village green, with The Victory back in sight having managed 4.6 miles in just over two hours.

23 walkers sat down to very good lunch served with a smile by one of the owners.
